Optical Wireless Communication: A Candidate 6G Technology?

We discuss herein whether an optical wireless communication (OWC) system can be a candidate for post 5G or 6G cellular communication. Almost once per decade, mobile is transformed by significant evolution, with each generation developing distinctive concept technology. Interestingly, similar trends have occurred in OWC systems based on visible light and fidelity (Li-Fi). Unfortunately, currently relegated to limited role any scenario, but the debate this unavoidable has yet settled. Whether adopted not vital issue; rather, aim should that coexists technologies. In working toward goal, research development will continue extend its benefits standardize so it widely deployed market. For example, given standard already exists visible-light beacon identifier Li-Fi, service using developed satisfy user demand.
